THE CONTEXT
Pus cultures in CSOM may
contain multiple organisms, including aerobic and anaerobic organisms.
Organisms identified
•
Common aerobic organisms
are Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
•
Anaerobes include Bacteroides fragilis and anaerobic Streptococci.
