Normal right ventricular pressures and cardiac blood flow
THE CONTEXT
The target identifies normal right ventricular pressures and describes the direction of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood flow through the heart.
Right ventricular pressures
•
Normal right ventricular systolic pressure
is 15–30 mmHg, and end-diastolic pressure is 0–5 mmHg.
Direction of blood flow
•
Deoxygenated blood travels through the right heart to the lungs. Oxygenated blood returns from the lungs and passes to the systemic circulation.
