Posterior relations of the axillary artery

THE CONTEXT
The passage lists muscular and neural structures posterior to the axillary artery.

Muscular relations

•
The first intercostal space with the external intercostal muscle is listed posteriorly.
•
The first and second digitations of serratus anterior are posterior relations, accompanied by the nerve to serratus anterior.

Neural relation

•
The medial cord of the brachial plexus, with its medial pectoral branch, is also listed posteriorly.
