THE CONTEXT
Resuscitation of low-birth-weight neonates requires adequate preparation, suitable equipment, and attention to temperature.

Preparation and equipment

•
Prepare adequately for a higher level of resuscitation.
•
Provide appropriately sized resuscitation bags, face masks, and endotracheal tubes.
•
Include a CPAP device among the equipment.

Temperature protection

•
Take extra care to avoid hypothermia.
