Vasomotor, sudomotor and pilomotor functions
THE CONTEXT
These functions act on skin arterioles, sweat secretion and the muscles responsible for hair erection.
Effects in the skin
•
Vasomotor function constricts the arterioles of the skin.
•
Sudomotor function increases sweat secretion.
•
Pilomotor function contracts the arrector pilorum muscle, causing erection of the hair.
