Immune Response
Antibody responses to mixed vaccines
THE CONTEXT
Combining vaccine antigens
can leave their responses independent or potentiate a response, depending on the combination described.
Typhoid and cholera vaccines
•
When typhoid and cholera vaccines are given in a mixed
form, the antibody response to each is not influenced by the other.
Toxoids with bacterial vaccines
•
When toxoids
are administered along with bacterial vaccines, as in DPT vaccine, the response to the toxoid is potentiated.
